If someone is given all his equipment by, say, Canon, then wouldn't you like to know something about that person's relationship with the company...as it just so happens that ALL the reviews that person writes are glowing endorsements of Canon...wouldn't that give you a different "appreciation" for that reviewers views? AND there is NOTHING wrong with asking, it is a perfectly legitimate question to ask a reviewer. They can always simply refuse to answer, or can answer as they see fit...vaguely or with full disclosure, and any level in-between.
