So much knowledge comes from that one seemingly trivial skill. There is no such thing as a true stepless electronic shutter with an infinite number of settings between traditional marked speeds. However the steps are very small, on the order of one tenth of a stop. The M7's viewfinder read out shows only half stop steps for the sake of simplicity.
