The SLs are big and heavy and clunky but they are built like fortresses and the viewfinders are extraordinary. Sherry has said to me that in her opinion the SL is the M3 of Leica reflex cameras. I have had to recalibrate the meters for non-mercury batteries. Ernst Hartmann at Leica Northvale, whom I saw just this morning on my way upstate from New York, is doing that as I write this.
