It is *very* hard to get rid of these kinds of color casts.

One way is to experiment with converting to a duotone before printing. I
forget the exact settings that work well but there are lots of references
on the web. You don't get a particularly neutral print but you lose the
obnoxious crossovers.

Some people with this printer print b+w using only the black ink in 2880
dpi mode and report great success.

I presume you are converting to grayscale before printing?
