Those are the kinds of stories - let alone the actual events - that make
strong men and women weep, Ted...

I certainly recognize that our society has become too litigious, but - have
there been any suits by pros against processors regarding loss of images,
and does anyone know what the outcomes have been? Do those neat little
copout lines on the packaging really protect the film manufacturers and
processors?

And B.D. they've got away with that for years! They cover their butt with
replacing the roll no matter who's fault by stating whatever the waver is
when you purchase the film.

In Montreal during the 76 Olympics I had 20 rolls destroyed of the
Canada-USSR basketball game, a very significant one to decide who was
playing in one of the medal rounds.

Another photographer, a European freelancer on contract to cover the USSR
team had all his rolls destroyed from the same game. He lost thousands of
dollars due to the wipe out and all Kodak did was blame someone else and
hand him a package of film replacing what was lost.

The guy was so devastated he sat in a corner of the lab holding his head and
crying like a child.

What some of the people here praising Kodak for their KR processing and
perfection of every roll coming back peachy keen is wonderful for them. When
so many of us have had film destroyed or mucked up beyond belief for a
company of Kodak's stature.

Besides that, folks here have absolutely no idea the mental trauma and
amount of monetary loss a professional photographer can suffer when all
his/her efforts and irreplaceable film has been wiped out. It's quite
devastating really, particularly on a high profile assignment.

And when your sitting with nothing more to show for your work, but rolls of
new film in your lap, trust me, it isn't the least bit consoling one iota.
