Imagine shooting in the barber shop with the large expanse of windows, the shadow side doesn't change but as I move closer or further away an auto-exposure system keeps changing. Why do you think the really smart TTL flash systems were refined? Many people will say just turn it off but why should I pay a $1000 premium for something I will have off most of the time? The pro's on this list especially the photojournalists may have a point as there is no excuse for not bringing the picture home, but you guys will be all digital if you aren't already and the higher end digital already have smart exposure systems. And in response to those whose response is if you haven't tried...several modern Japanese pro SLR's reside in a bag but mostly remain in the dark because I prefer the Leitz lenses and I was using them in manual anyway. They stay around as macro TTL flash will require upgrading to the R8 which I haven't done yet. In fairness, there are many, many users out there who want and need auto-exposure so please purchase the M7, it will keep my favorite manufacturer in business and all those M6's traded in will make me very happy indeed. This avocation is wonderful as all manor of boats can be floated. Don dorysrus@mindspring.com - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
