Subject: [Leica] Leitz Glass
From: Mark Kronquist <mak@teleport.com>

According to the Leitz lenses brochure and many other sources Leitz bought
glass from leading producers to meet the majority of their needs but
INVENTED AND USED IN PRODUCTON melts from their lab when they needed a
special glass. A factory? No but the Summitar*, radioactive Summicron and
other lenses were made with Leitz made glass...

THOUGH Ill bet no one on this list could tell the difference between an
image created with a CL and a Summicron or M Rokkor 40mm lens

(not to mention a 90 Elmar C and a 90 M rokkor : ) opps that was a secret)
