Message-ID: <000701c1d04b$bf00a660$a643f9d8@earthlink.net> References: Meter the brightest and darkest portions of the xray transparency just as if you were taking reflected readings off of a contrasty subject. If the range is greater than the dynamic range of the slide film (unlikely for BW slide film) then expose for the end of the range that has the most detail. I would guess that would be the dark areas. Then, to be sure of your results, bracket at least one stop in each direction. Herb Original message----------------------------- This Saturday I will be photographing various x-ray sheets for a client on Agfa Scala 200 b&w slide film with my Leica R8 and appropriate lenses. The x-ray sheets will be lit via a standard x-ray viewbox. Since the light will be emitted from behind the film, incident readings are impossible. Thus, having to use reflected readings, I must be assured of perfect exposures and am not certain how. Can anyone herein provide suggestions as to obtaining correct metering? Thanks in advance!
