They could all be made on the dark side of the moon and as long as the work is completed to Leica standards, which all Leica gear is, then no one has a gripe whatever country they're made. This "which is better and best" topic comes up every once and awhile and quite frankly it's a big pain in the butt, I should say pain in the ass, but I wont. ;-) Simply because the person asking hasn't taken a moment to check the archives on the happenstance it's been discussed before. Besides each time the topic comes up I see it as questioning the ability of other country workers as inferior to German in the Leica factory. Which is of course BS, because any country building or whatever they do, under the name of Leica, do so under very strict and specific standards set by the mother company in Solms. End of topic! Oh yeah and for the umpteenth time........ the Noctilux was designed and built in Canada by Canadians! ;-) Had to get that little shot in. ;-) ted Ted Grant Photography Limited www.islandnet.com/~tedgrant - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
