Each list has a different tone: the LUG is one of the more, well,
contentious lists I am on, but it is not the most marked in that direction.
(I subscribe to some academic lists, such as the ANSAXNET, where blood
flows far more frequently than it does here!)

Many of us on the LUG also subscribe to the Hasselblad List -- Austin, Jim
Brick, myself, and more than a few others. Yes, it is a peaceful
environment in many ways, and a most wonderful source of information -- but
it is not the only calm and serene camera list!
