I don;t think so..... not sure, but my experience says flash is a on or off
phenomenon.....  no stretching by altering power is  allowed......   It may
be pulsed so rapidly that the output seems to be continuous, ands therefore
the overlap issue is negated.....one more pulse here or there is
unmimportant ...

    My impression is that the tube is pulsed with a
contolled amount of power, rather than just dumping the
powersupply capacitors.  So the light level remains fairly
constant over a longer period of time.
