Absolutely. A couple of weeks ago I bought a "brand new" Pentax Digital
Spot meter, the version that was re-worked and re-calibrated by the Zone VI
(Calumet) folks, for $425. Through any store I would have paid over $600,
plus tax.

Recently, I bought two Hasselblad backs, basically unused, one E12 back and
one E24 back, for $550 (includes shipping) each. "Net" price from
Hasselblad (best discount) is $1000 each.

I also Bought a new E16 Hasselblad back for $550. Rare and discounted price
from any dealer is $1000.

It is e-a-s-y to find good prices on things you need and want. Just be very
patient and very careful and be willing to not bid past your max on that
thing you just cannot live without. You'll find you can live without it and
another one, in better condition, will show up shortly, and you'll snag it
for less than your max.
