Is all the nonsense about who stamped what when legally binding? OR when
push comes to shove, if you have proof of purchase in the form of a check,
credit card receipt, etc., is a manufacturer required to stand behind its
product from that date until the normal expiration of the warranty. Just
curious.

If the camera's warranty card was stamped by a legitimate Leica dealer (one
who buys his/her stock through official channels), than the warranty is
valid and the camer is not "grey market". If the dealer is a fake, and the
dealer's stamp is not recognized, then the warranty is not valid, and the
camera is "grey market". Seems clear to me.
