Sigh...John.  I DID read your entire post.  I left it (as well as other
parts of your post) out because I don't see how it/they (specifically 3)
is/are relevant.  Perhaps you could try to explain why you believe
specifically 3, that you re-quote below, is relevant.

It is obvious that the item must come WITH a warranty card, or all bets are
off.
Filling in the date of purchase, address etc. is hardly an issue, and it IS
being bought from the "purportedly" authorized photo dealer.

I am not clear what point you are trying to argue in favor/against
here...since it just can't be the same one I am ;-)
