Subject: [Leica] Weekly handy hints on LUG list
From: Gordon Brown <gordon.r.brown@worldnet.att.net>
Date: Sat, 02 Mar 2002 21:09:01 -0700

Each Friday, amid the for-sale listings, several messages appear to remind
LUG subscribers about housekeeping and protocols for the list.

I suggest that some reminders be added:

First: quote only the relevant portions of a posting to which you are
responding. I'm tired of scrolling through yards of text fronted with:
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Second: reread what you have just typed--before you hit the send key. Edit
your words as you would your photographs. Does it make any sense? Are there
typos? Are words run together because you didn't hit the space bar? Would
it be better to hit the delete key and start a new message now that you
have vented?

Third: look at the subject line. Does it reflect what you are writing
about? Or is it still stuck on a topic from three weeks ago that isn't
mentioned in your posting?

Regards,
