In the new Mel Gibson Vietnam war movie "We Were Soldiers," the actor who plays UPI reporter and author of the book upon which the movie was based - Joe Galloway - has a couple of Nikons and....an M3, complete with leica something meter on top, around his neck. In the movie he seems to be a photographer rather than a reporter, but what the heck. It is, btw, a VERY moving movie. Flawed, but well worth the price of admission. A terrific tribute to those who fought in that war. B.
