Like many of you, I've visited with him in New York and bought gear from him. Although in the heart of Manhattan, he is like the small home-town dealer just referred to, willing to spend time with a customer, fill his/her needs and build a long-term relationship. IMHO he's right about the Leica USA Passport. Think of it as a 3-year insurance policy. You pay a relatively small premium for the peace of mind of knowing that if anything happens to your camera/lens - ANYTHING - Leica USA will take care of it. If nothing happens, like with you auto or home insurance policy, you've paid and a small premium to cover the case where something big happens - and it is fixed free.
