Having just bought my first new Leica - I found myslef struggling to lift
bas plate latch - my fingernails are not long enough.

Not wnating to scratch my "new" baby I realised that I could use the very
same thing I use when playing a guitar...

Use a plectrum (pick) folks, the really soft flexible ones are great.....and
no scratches every time I load film.
