She did recommend changing to the SL2 screens but the cost was $250 just for the screen. I opted to get a Maxwell Hi Lux screen made instead. I contact Bill Maxwell and he made up a ground glass screen for the SL. Its much smoother and brighter compared to the original screen. I use the SL mainly on the longer focal length lenses which made me to go for the ground glass screen instead of the split image. Bill does make various screens depending on your needs. The Maxwell screen only set me back $100. I can't recommend this upgrade enough to all the SL owners who still has their original screens or wanting a split image screen installed. Sherry as usual did her magic touch on my SL. bests, guna > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <Tom.Henson@bakerbotts.com> > To: <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> > Sent: Thursday, February 28, 2002 11:15 PM > Subject: RE: [Leica] Leciaflex SL and 35-70 f3.5 German > > > > Don and Ted, > > > > Thank you for your helpful reponse. > > > > Concerning the eyecup, I have an R eye cup that I will try tonight.
