the R8 measures up nicely against the F3,  a manual focus camera introduced
in 1980.

Leica was foolish to invest so much money in a manual focus camera,  the R8
died in the market place, much like the M5.

look at the Leica quarterly statements, R sales are in serious trouble.

this is not to say it is not a fine, even a great camera.  the problem is
that it is a total sales dud.
