Large companies with a hundred times the R&D budget of Leica have failed to produce a profitable digital camera. The ONLY way Leica can participate in the digital market is by rebadging other company's products. I cannot see any easy way to adapt a current manufacturer's body to accept R ROM lenses in anything but stop down mode. Canon has a fully electronic body/lens interface and the mechanics of the Nikon are completely different. Do not expect a digital R anytime soon.
