In most cases, it is film that is *slated* to be shipped outside of the U.S. distribution channels. But it is usually "reimported" before it ever leaves U.S. shores. It may even come out of the same warehouse as the official U.S. stuff. The official U.S. film contains a premium that pays, for example, for Kodak USA advertising, promotions, scholarships, Kodak technical support, and what have you. The the gray film intended for overseas distribution doesn't have this premium built in. I believe Fuji has similar distribution methods. - -- Rolfe Tessem | Lucky Duck Productions, Inc. rolfe@ldp.com | 96 Morton Street (212) 463-0029 | New York, Ny 10014 - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
