__New: LEICA M7

With the LEICA M7, a classic celebrates a premiere. 
Photography with the new rangefinder system camera is a 
surprisingly new and yet unchanged experience. A 

convenient stepless electronic automatic exposure time 
control with memory on the shutter release button and 
many improved details enable convenience and operation 
speed. Not just the functions themselves are revolutionary, 
but their seamless integration into the classic Leica M 
camera concept. Form, size and the proven operating 
concept of the LEICA M6 were retained without changes in 
the LEICA M7.

__New: Leica digital adapter

The new Leica digital adapter is an ideal accessory for all 
owners of Leica Televid spotting scopes for photography 
and monitor observation. With the unique combination of 
the new LEICA DIGILUX 1 digital camera with the high-
performance spotting scopes LEICA TELEVID 77 and 
LEICA TELEVID 62 it enables new possibilities for 
observation and photography. The large 2.5“ monitor of the 
camera offers a lot of advantages. It is excellent for 
assessing picture area and composition and also enables 
several people to look at the image together.

__New: LEICA VARIO-ELMAR R 21-35mm f/3,5-4 ASPH.

The LEICA VARIO-ELMAR-R 21-35 mm f/3.5-4 ASPH. is a 
compact and light-weight addition to the zoom lenses in the 
Leica R SLR system. With the use of the four most 
frequently used wide-angle focal lengths of 21, 24, 28 and 
35 mm the lens enables various possibilities. The practical 
focal length range offers saving a time-consuming change 
of lens in many cases and also allows faster reactions to 
unexpected situations.

__Third Quarter FY 2001/02 Results

The Leica Camera Group, Solms, in the first nine months of 
fiscal year 2001/2002 (ending March 31, 2002) has 
recorded reduced sales of € 101.6 million, representing a € 
17.6 million decrease as compared to the same period in 
the prior year. Of the difference, € 15.8 million alone 
resulted from the temporary lack of a digital compact 
camera and the withdrawal of Minox GmbH from the group 
of consolidated companies. Sales in the months of October 
to December were at € 35.0 million, or € 11.9 million below 
the prior fiscal year’s comparative period.
