[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]I decided to try my hand at developing my own black and white film today and shot a roll of Delta 100. I developed it in in Ilfotec HC (1+31) for 6 minutes, used Ilfostop for 30 seconds, then Ilford Hypam fixer for five minutes and washed for 8 minutes, adding a little wetting agent at the end to aid drying. So what do I see. Well, the negs look fine but when I scanned some they have a grainy appearance which is surprising since Delta 100 is a fine grain film. There is an almost snowy look to the mid tones, and some have deep blacks and blown highlights. I know this is not Leica related (other than I used my M6 to take theo roll of film) but I hoped some people here might be able to respond off list (assuming no one else is interested in the answers) and let me know what I could have done wrong. I have read a few books etc. and I suspect over development, but I am open to the expert opinions of other more experienced luggers. Thanks for any responses.
