The biggest difference here is generally a 35 is sharper than a 19. The 19 is 
so much wider resulting in much more resulting in more diffraction and 
correction. Remember that entire wide view of the 19 must be corrected down 
the the 35mm image size. A much bigger undertaking than with a 35. This is 
the reason 50mm lens tend to be so sharp. So little correction is needed  to 
the final image size

Secondly, your 19R is of retro design as opposed to a true wide angle where 
the lenght of the rear element to the film plane corresponds to the lens 
length. Because of the mirror, the 19R is further from the film plane 
requiring more glass, more correction, etc. to reduce the image down to the 
film size.

The two lens are not really comparable. Compare the 35/1.4 R with its M 
cousin and judge the differences.
