Thanks Fellows, I will dust off my 283 and use it, Now I have to find a
cord for it. By the way I have the M6 non ttl.

Haven't used Vivitars, however regularly use SB24 and 28's on the M6
TTL, with and without SC17 cables, haven't fried anything yet <g>
