I selected six images I took in January when I had an opportunity to visit two good friends who just became proud parents. This is no ordinary child, however - she was born over 14 weeks prematurely. Despite her tiny size and some pretty formidable odds against her, she struggled for life for the next three months until she was healthly enough to be allowed home. The strength that child mustered up, and the strength of her parents (one of whom was near death when she was delivered by emergency cesarean) is simply remarkable. I shot these in the "preme" section of the materinty ward during bath and feeding time - pretty dim light - and opted not to use a flash. Film used was T-Max P3200 pushed to 6400, developed in XTOL 1:1. All were around 1/30 at f2 - I metered once and guestimated as necessary. On the digital side, I used a Minolta Dimage 2820 dpi Scanner with VueScan. http://www3.sympatico.ca/w_gower/home/Baby_R.html Thanks for looking - comments, suggestions welcome.
