Hi Rei,
Your usual solid family moments well executed photographically, rather than
the many grab any old thing we see posted. It appears you take the time to
do it right or not all, but in these and I've noticed in many others, you
have the "timing moment to shoot right on the mark."

Lesson from Rei's shooting:
This is an excellent lesson on shooting kids, why? The children are "DOING
SOMETHING!" Their attention is away from "here he comes with that camera
again" look.

Sure any number of kids we are shown are cutesy, so what! But what you have
here is complete attention of the child "doing something" and I
emphasize..... "DOING SOMETHING" and not showing any interest to the camera.

Their hands, their eyes, their complete mental attention is concentration on
what they're doing. And not what papa san is doing with his camera!

These are an excellent illustration in the joy of using Leica glass in
available light, which many think overhead or window light. But what do we
have here? Christmas tree lighting! Considering the level of illumination
from these little bulbs the photographs "show no fear the photographer with
the Noctilux is here!" :-)

Or for those of you who do not have the Nocti, any Leica lens. (that's
covering my butt before the flames come across the screen!) ;-)

This has been a bit long, but when one comes across the screen that has
solid learning information it's worth making every use of it.

Here's another solid point. Rei is focused right on the eyes and the eye
nearest to the camera, which again strengthens the concentration. Hey gang
look at these carefully as he's working pretty damn close to the children
and the focus is right on the mark!

It doesn't take anymore effort to do it right, than doing it so-so. The real
secret is.......... the children are doing something and it isn't a "daddy
wants to take some pictures look like you are doing something."

Give them something real to do that absolutely captures their total
attention and you'll get away from those cutesy shots of kid looking right
at camera.

So endth the lesson for today. ;-)
