The shots of the days leading up to this one (from my pic a day series) show us traveling, hoteling in MN and visiting the college. So yes, taken in context of the entire project (of which my paw images are only weekly snippets), <this image will show exactly what was going on. I'm sorry, Lea, but none of what you have explained is conveyed in that photograph - to anyone but you and your daughter. It is also not conveyed in the context of having seen the previous PAWs of your daughter. It is a nice informal portrait of a smiling girl - not a girl bursting with glee, not a girl jumping up and down waving her arms, not a girl who has traveled to MN, visited colleges, etc. etc. - just a happy girl smiling. Unfortunately, explaining does not make it so. B. D. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "B. D. What this is is a nice informal shot of a : pretty young girl. No matter what you do, it does not and will not have : anything to do with college admissions, decision making, etc. etc. - except : to you. If you wanted to tell a story about the call, you needed to set : something up - perhaps a series of a couple shots showing her on the phone, : perhaps with the college catalogue in one of the photos. Even that wouldn't : convey what you have in your caption, but it would come closer. : : I am making an issue out of this because I think it is one of the real : failings of many many folks taking still photos today - they tend to believe : that a photo conveys information that they have that is not in the photo. : : Anyway, nice shot - :-) : : B.
