Some of the most famous photos in history have been taken of family members. Eugene Smith's "Walk to Paradise Garden" are his own two children. You should photograph what you love and what touches your heart. If that happens to be rocks and trees, fine. If it happens to be your own daughter, wonderful! You won't have to go out searching for subjects. Your favorite subject is right there. Perhaps the only thing you need to change is the opinions you respect.
