last year i got the 1228 with magnesium head.

it's the best tripod i've ever used.

i also have the alloy reporter which is dimensionally the same tripod,
but the 1228 feels so much handier and lighter (because it is!).

and it's really sturdy as all getout for an M6 or Hasselblad.
