I was not expecting to see *that* Ronald. :) >Engaging us with her bemused smile is our server, Kathy. >http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=519024 I like the expression on her face and the composition. It's easy to tell that Kathy is a server here, and where "here" is. Very good environmental portrait! I'd like to see her face lightened, her uniform darkened, the lights on the right darkened, and the cook's hat in the background darkened, too. My eye travels to the lighter places in the image, instead of going towards Kathy's face. It's like the spotlight is on Kathy's chest and her face is an after thought. >The OK cafe has a very attentive staff. They even noticed my need for >captivating models. >http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=519027 Again, I like the overall arrangement, but the subject's face is too dark. Too much in the shadows. My eye isn't drawn to her face. I'd also crop the bottom a bit. It can be disconcerting cropping people at joints, like at an ankle. A good rule of thumb is to crop in the middle of an appendage. Above or below the knees. Not at the knees. Not at the ankles. Personally, I'd crop just above the socks.
