That should not be difficult for Lecia to achieve, IMHO, because the electronics required to control the shutter speed in the M7 should take up less space than the old mechanical timing gears of the M6. For instance, when Olympus released the electromechanical OM-2 as the successor to the mechanical OM-1, the appearance and size were virtually unchanged. The downside with the Olympus OM-2, which will probably also be true of the Leica M7, was its total inability to function without batteries.
