Regarding high speed flash synch: I used an OM-3Ti for several years 
just for the high speeed flash synch of the F280 flash.  The OM-3Ti is 
fully manual, having a mechanical shutter.  The battery is needed for 
the flash-quench circuitry, but the shutter is free of any circuitry. 
 Fill flash at high shutter speeds is excellent if you like to shoot 
wide open in daylight. I am overjoyed that Leica is putting this in the 
M camera. I'm very glad now that I put off 'upgrading' my 0.85 to a TTL 
model.
