That's easy enough.  Offer to destroy said negative in front of the
publicist for more than the magazine was willing to pay.  Once they hand
over the cash, you'll burn the image in front of them.  You do the right
thing by not hurting the police, and you get money from the celebrity on top
of it.  What could be better?  Win/win!  :)
