The only reason it wasn't marketed at that time was, Apple said, the high price of the panels. Since then the panels have come down in price. It seems that the age of the CRT will be over next year. And the tower will also share popularity with the compact flat case. The panel iMac uses a flat case. I use a 15" 150S Philips flat panel with my Dell 450. It weighs only about 12 lbs, will work with PCs and Macs, is equal to a 17" CRT monitor in actual area, and carries a 3-year warranty. The quality of the image is about the same as a Trinitron CRT. It uses about 22 Watts and leaves plenty of open desk space. What more could we ask? I doubt whether I'll every buy a CRT again. br - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
