Subject: [Leica] How long will it take for film to disappear
From: Afterswift@aol.com

Probably forever vis a vis human existence on this or any other planet for
the simple reason that a digital image is really a publication print -- a dot
affair. Certainly true of even the best inkjet printers.

The negative is the DNA of still photography. You can't have life without DNA
and you can't have photography without a negative. Photography came into
existence without the negative for a few years -- just as organic chemistry
did about a billion years ago -- but the technology found its DNA and will
never depart from it. Chalk that up to a form of evolution.
