Locally, I have had terrible luck with Walgreen's Drug Store for in-house
developing and printing (I have seen strips of people's negatives wet and
lying on the floor). They have destroyed the last 3 rolls I've taken there.
For their 1-hour processing, they tell me to come back in two hours (the new
math). Sam's has been very good. I have heard that, because they do such a
giant volume, they replenish their chemicals regularly. The only drawback is
that you have to do the 1-hour processing; otherwise, they'll put your
envelope of negs and prints in a huge hamper for all the world to have
access to.
