I certainly don't wish to belabor any of this. It intriques me
because "the times they are a changin". From 67 to 74, when I
earned a meager living as a freelance pj - it didn't seem to
require the amount hoop jumping it does today. Most publications
would supply press passes to folks who provided work to them. The
authorities seemed to respect the profession, even in those
troubled times. Now it seems that if you don't have credentials
from one of a handful of publications or agencies you don't
"qualify" as professional pj. And folks trying to do an important
job are getting tossed in the hoosegow. Some thing feels "wrong"
and a bit "dangerous" about the direction we're headed.
