As I posted yesterday, we have a good deal of so-called "art photography" here that no one ever asks to see. They are far more interested in the shots of baptisms in the river, washday at the plantation, and shots of Front Street Natchitoches. Obviously, a dictionary is only a description of the use of the language, but as I have said several times before, most of my shots fall into the catagory of snapshots. High end snapshots, I hope; I don't ever go out intending to shoot art. I'm just a Red-neck Cherokee with a couple of Leicas, taking pictures of the life of my town.
