They were very nice, sturdy designs. Excellent cameras with fine optics. Yet they were not timeless the way every Leica M has been since the beginning. Leicas have better rangefinders (what it's all about) and better ergonomics than any other 35mm marque ever made. There are still repair people who will service RF Nikons. Their lenses are still excellent. Yet I've seen not a single working pro still using them. Many many top-notch shooters still use old Leica M cameras with older lenses. Check back in 50 years and I have absolutely no doubt you will still find old Leica M cameras in professional use. I intend to be in that number.
