If you're talking about this one: http://www.availabledark.com/html/friends20.htm ... then yeah it looks wide open, or nearly so, which puzzles me. I don't record exposure information, but I remember it as a fairly bright summer afternoon. For example, this one was taken on the same day: http://www.availabledark.com/html/friends22.htm About modeling light, well I guess you're just seeing the best ones, and not all my crap :D But I'm a big fan of window light, and I like the effect I get when I shoot about 90 degrees or more from the light, instead of right in front of it. I think this is a case where good lenses (such as Leica stuff) can actually help out by retaining all the contrast possible. Thanks again :) Regards, Colin http://www.availabledark.com PS Since I first posted to the LUG, I've gotten about 2000 "requests for pages" on my web server. I usually get only 300-400 in the same amount of time. Yours is the only email I got this time. I'll just assume I have stunned everyone into silence with my keen photographic eye. :D - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of Sonny Carter Sent: Saturday, November 24, 2001 9:24 AM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] Available Dark updates! I just got around to looking through these. Some unusual new stuff here. Of the new ones of Ali, I like the antiques store and the beach shots best. I also like Fiona, and the guitar man. You are doing a great job of capturing good modeling light; I take it the Fiona shot was shot nearly wide open?
