Hello and welcome!

The 24 and 21 ASPH lenses are both the best of their focal lengths by 
any camera company. Basically, as with the 35/2 and 90/2 ASPH lenses, 
you use the aperture ring only to control exposure and DOF. 
Performance for most purposes is no different wide open than closed 
down. Get the focal length that suits you best.
