George,

I did! I got to fondle one at the Canon exhibit. It's kinda heavy but
I don't care. I'm a little disappointed that it's not a full-frame
sensor. The first manufacturer to make a camera like that gets my
money. I understand why they did it, but I feel that a 24x36mm sensor
would be a real coup, regardless of how fast/slow it might be. It's the
only reason I don't have the D30 already!

I've thought a little about digital M, and my requirements are pretty
low. I wouldn't need a LCD screen, or different color balance gizmos
and stuff. Just keep the current shutter (wow - wind a digital
camera??), make the ISO wheel adjust the sensitivity of the sensor, and
make it take CF2 cards. I'd be thrilled.

Colin,

If you think that's impressive, you need to check out the EOS-1D. It's
damned expensive (although no bad, considering a lesser camera cost over
$10k not long ago), but the results and performance are amazing.

Different applications, different tools.
