I had the speed (700 Mhz) the memory (512 megs) and the storage (30 gigs). In fact it started loading and then popped up with it's error window saying that I needed upgraded drivers for the BIOS and to get them from the manufacturer. So I go to the manufacturer (HP) and they say they are not going to make an updated driver. You finally get that information about halfway down the link. To their credit, Office Depot did refund the money but only after arguing with two clerks and a manager. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of Henry Ambrose Sent: Friday, October 26, 2001 10:17 AM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] Win XP >This then leads to a problem with the store clerks insisting that opened >software cannot be returned. $100 for software that doesn't work just >doesn't cut it. "we can't accept returns of opened software" IMO thats the same as the business telling you that they think all their customers are software thieves. Does Microsoft tell you it will/won't work? If the package says it won't work, you're on shaky ground.
