There is nothing on the package to suggest that it wouldn't work.  I had the
speed (700 Mhz) the memory (512 megs) and the storage (30 gigs).  In fact it
started loading and then popped up with it's error window saying that I
needed upgraded drivers for the BIOS and to get them from the manufacturer.
So I go to the manufacturer (HP) and they say they are not going to make an
updated driver.  You finally get that information about halfway down the
link.   To their credit, Office Depot did refund the money but only after
arguing with two clerks and a manager.

If you paid by credit card, use the CC company to refuse to pay them.

I REALLY hate this scummy tactic. "we can't accept returns of opened
software"
IMO thats the same as the business telling you that they think all their
customers are software thieves.

Does Microsoft tell you it will/won't work?

If the package says it won't work, you're on shaky ground.
