Go to the Freer (Smithsonian Metro stop; Orange/Blue line) and
see the Peacock Room and the other Whistlers. (The Freer is best
known for its Oriental art, which, frankly, does nothing for me.
The Whistlers, esp. the Peacock Room, are worth the visit,
though.)

I've always found the Air & Space Museum to be very
disappointing. You can't get close to many of the interesting
(and non-unique, non-fragile, like the DC-3) airplanes. So I
personally wouldn't bother with it.
