Subject: Re: [Leica] R7body and R4 databack

Correction to the statement below

There are four different data backs for the R series cameras

1) DataBack DB Leica R4 (14 297)- works on R4 cameras and uses a external
cord to the camera's pc terminal to synchronise the back to the camera.

2) DataBack DB-2 Leica R (14 216)- works on R5, RE, R6, R6.2 and R7 cameras
and uses internal contacts to synchronise the back to the camera.

3) Databack DB-2 Leica R4 (14 230)- works on R4 cameras and comes with an
external cord to synchronise back to the camera

4) DataBack DB-2 Leica R (14 216)- same as the R5 to R7 one but with
improved circuitry to vary the output intensity to match the ISO of the film

So a DataBack DB Leica R4 will not work on R5 and up cameras.

Sorry for the confusion!

John Collier

The DB 2 Leica R Data Back (14 216) works on all R4 to R7 cameras. Have you
tried putting fresh batteries in the back?
