So that's why my usually reliable store didn't have 1 liter mixes: trust
Kodak to screw up a good thing.

I've kept Xtol or any developer two ways. The first is I have a 4 liter
accordion bottle and a one liter accordion bottle. The stuff gets mixed in
a five gallon bucket then funneled into the containers. Before I had the 4
liter bottle I put the developer in four or five smaller bottles and just
worked through them sequentially. I haven't had any problem over a six month
or so period using the plastic bottles. Obviously, glass is better. If you
keep the bottles in a dark room then I wouldn't worry about brown glass or
clear.
