However, the reason our equipment looks used is precisely because we do use it everyday in frequently harsh conditions. When the "news guys" were photographing people running for their lives in NYC, I doubt if they were too worried about an extra scratch or two showing up on their cameras. We don't leave our cameras in their boxes and take them our periodically to "exercise the shutter" and then put them back in the boxes, as someone on this list indicated he did with his camera.
