Subject: [Leica] Leica IIIc

Today I found, but didn't buy yet, a marvelous IIIc in a very nice cosmetics
condition.
After a little bit story they gave me Voigtlaender Heliar 15/4.5 to make
some tests since I was needing something wider than the 21 mm. A fellow
owner of a trade-in photo store in Buenos Aires promised me the 15/4.5 then
I went to pick the lens up this morning thinking that tests would take place
this afternoon. As soon as I got the store the person was not there but left
me the lens apart with a message saying that he didn't find the LTM to M
adapter so he was "attaching" a IIIc to the Heliar to let me test the lens.
Well, shit, what a nice camera is this!!! So smooth!! So handy!! Shutter
really sounds like a waltz!!
Of course loading the camera is not so pleasant but I don't think is so more
unpleasant than loading my M2... I'd not trying to start a new silly thread
on this (non) topic issue.
Right now, as the tests are done but film is not processed I'm in love with
the camera. I wish I can keep it with me and make her become my third or
fourth body. At least the Heliar looks fine on that pretty body.

On the side of the body I can say that the shutter seems to be working fine
in all speeds.
What I wonder is what is that dial outwards the shutter wheel. There's a
dial with even numbers engraved there starting at 0 - 2 - .... - 20 and a
ring to be tuned (?) ...what does this scale mean ? what is this for ?

The last one, is there any helper to advance the film, some lever or so...
some good stuff from Tom A. ? from others ?

Aaah, by the way, her black vulcanite (is vulcanite or what?) dress is
entire and looks great. No holes. Just one ding on top plate at the left
side and the bottom plate locking system feels really hard to open and
close. Nothing to do with my others Leica bodies. I bet there's a problem
there that should be fixed.

That's it... just wanted to share some sentiments and hear from some
knowledgeable in the thread mount land of Oscar.

regards
